Day 8 - Living in the light and peace of God
When Jesus encountered the Samaritan woman 1 , who was deeply suffering because of her
sins, she asked Him where the appropriate place to worship God was. Her ancestors worshiped
on Mount Gerizim in Samaria, while the Jews insisted the proper place to worship God was on
Mount Moriah in Jerusalem. Jesus responded, “A time is coming and has now come when the
true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of
worshipers the Father seeks.”
Have you observed how all creation exalts God in its own place—the mountains, rivers, and
oceans? In this era of constant busyness, we must ask ourselves: what kind of worshipers are
we? Have you consistently worshiped God through your actions? For example, have you taken
a moment to appreciate the beautiful mountain you can see through your window? Have you
forgiven someone who has wronged you? Have you taken the time to help or pray for someone
in need? Do you feel a burden in your heart for those who do not know God?
Do not take God's blessings for granted or make light of His presence in your life. The actions I
mentioned above are ways we worship the Lord in spirit and truth simply because He deserves
all the glory. As the martyrs of the ancient church used to say our extreme worship is defined by
when and where we praise Jesus.
When we constantly adore God, we receive His comfort in difficult times. Our hearts are filled
with the peace that surpasses all understanding, enabling us to praise our Lord with love and
gratitude. These moments build our endurance, strengthen our faith, and keep our eyes focused
on Jesus. They also equip us to help others. Our experiences become tools God uses to heal
and support our communities within and outside the church.
Heavenly Father, hallowed be Your name. Today, I want to adore and worship You for Who You
are: the great Creator, my loving Father, my pure God. Thank you, Lord, for allowing me to be
part of Your family and showing me how amazing it is to be Your child; with humbleness, I come
before Your throne to ask first for forgiveness. Sometimes, I don’t appreciate enough Your
sacrifice, sending Jesus to born as a human in poverty, in need and later to die for me. Please
allow me to see with Your eyes, think with Your mind, and help me understand that You are the
Lord of my life; heal my heart, clean my mind, and let me worship You in Spirit and truth. I want
to reflect Your light every moment and enjoy Your peace; the circumstances don’t matter. In
Jesus name, I pray. Amen.
