Day 6 - FOR ME, TO LIVE IS CHRIST

Zechariah praised the Lord after more than nine months of silence, singing a song known as the
Benedictus.

He sang after experiencing his own miracle—an older couple blessed with the gift of a child.
Now, he was completely certain that the Messiah would come, without any doubt.

Today, we live in the fulfillment of Zechariah’s prophecy, knowing that the Messiah has come
and that all the Scriptures concerning Him have been fulfilled. Like Zechariah, our trust in God
often grows stronger when we see His answers to our prayers.
Yet over time, we may forget the works of God in our lives. Our attitude toward Him can change.

Like the Israelites, we might even ask ourselves: Why should I serve the Lord? What has He
done for me?

But what truly matters—receiving answers to prayers for this life, or gaining eternal salvation?
As Paul wrote to the Philippians, “For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain.”
Gratitude is the key. When we live lives full of gratitude and contentment, we become the
happiest Christians. Consider Paul: though he was in prison and called himself an “apostle in
chains,” he remained a joyful servant of Jesus, grateful for his salvation.

Zechariah’s son, John the Baptist, was chosen by God to prepare the way for Jesus. He walked
among the Israelites, calling them to repentance and faith, proclaiming that the Son of Man was
coming.

Today, we have the same responsibility. We are called to be like John the Baptist—to leave the
comfort of our churches, workplaces, and neighborhoods and share the Gospel with everyone.
What news do we bring? The Good News of salvation, the message that Jesus has come to
bring eternal life.

Beloved, Jesus is coming again. We should be aware of the signs of His return, but more
importantly, we must be ready—whether to face persecution or to rejoice in eternal life. For
Jesus, it is all worth it.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, we come humbly before Your throne. I ask for Your forgiveness, for I have
often forgotten Your mercy and love and taken them for granted. Thank You for my salvation
and for calling me by name to be part of Your family.
Today, Lord, I ask for Your help in understanding my commitment as a member of Your family. I
want to spread the Good News to everyone around me. Speak through me, grant me wisdom,
and give me courage. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
