Day 4 - Jesus, the heart of the season and our hope
In the Beginning
At the beginning, God created the heavens, the earth, and humanity—Adam and Eve—in His
image. Everything He made was good.
Adam and Eve enjoyed a perfect relationship with God. They could speak face-to-face with Him at
any time, lived in harmony with one another, had no fear or shame, and experienced the beauty of
paradise. They were the lords and stewards of the place God had given them.
However, the enemy, envious of their perfect communion with God, sought to disrupt it. Being the
father of lies, he deceived Eve, planting doubts about God’s trustworthiness. “No, you will not
surely die,” he said. This deception led to humanity’s disobedience, and as a result, sin entered
the world. God, in His holiness, had to remove Adam and Eve from His presence.
As sin spread across the earth, God called Noah to build an ark. Only Noah and his family were
found righteous and worthy to be saved from the flood. Once again, God separated the good from
the bad.
God’s Redemptive Plan
Yet, God’s love for humanity never wavered. Jesus Christ came into the world to restore the
broken relationship between God and people. Through Him, we were given a new opportunity to
experience communion with the Father. As Christians, we have received this incredible gift and
live in its blessings.
But there is more: Jesus is coming again. Our responsibility is to be ready. What does that mean?
Jesus addressed this in His message to the churches in Asia, recorded in Revelation: “I know
everything you do.” God knows our hearts and our actions. He encourages us to remain faithful,
even to the point of death, promising, “I will give you the crown of life.”
A Call to Action
I urge you to follow Jesus’ teachings and fulfill the Great Commission. Share the good news of
salvation with your loved ones so that they, too, may experience eternal life and not be separated
from God forever.
Let us celebrate Jesus, the true reason for this season, by sharing His message with our family
and friends. May our words and actions reflect His love and call others to open their hearts to Him.
A Prayer for Loved Ones
“O Lord, You are a great and awesome God! You keep Your promises of unfailing love to those
who love You and obey Your commands.
Today, I come before Your throne with a humble heart, asking for Your help. Lord, I lift up to You
the people I love who are still far from You. Remove the blindness that keeps them from seeing
Your truth. Father God, with Your ropes of love and kindness, draw them to Jesus.
Please give them a new heart. Take away their heart of stone and give them a heart of flesh. Let
them become Your children, and be their God. Pour out Your Holy Spirit upon them.
“We make this plea, not because we deserve Your help, but because of Your mercy.”
O Lord, hear. O Lord, forgive. O Lord, listen and act! For Your own sake, do not delay, O my God,
for my loved ones and for Your city, which bears Your name.
In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.”
