Day 13 - CHRIST’S LIGHT IN A TROUBLED WORLD

King Solomon prayed for justice, integrity, and righteousness as he governed Israel, reflecting

the importance of aligning leadership with God’s commands to care for the needy and the poor.

As Christians, living in the light and peace that Jesus provides means we are called to follow His

Word. We are instructed to pray for our leaders, regardless of their ideology, so that we may live

peaceful and holy lives 1 . This includes trusting that God is greater than any earthly authority and

can work through them for His purposes.

Living in the light of Christ also compels us to address the deep needs of those around

us—people who are lost, lonely, and seeking something more than what the world can offer. As

mature Christians, we must embody the values and principles of God’s love, showing others that

true change comes through God’s mercy.

The light and peace of the Holy Spirit should guide us to be a beacon for those seeking

protection, justice, and freedom, pointing them to Jesus, who alone can save us.

To truly live in the light and peace of Christ, we must be a community focused on advancing the

Kingdom of God, offering solutions rooted in His teachings for the challenges of our current

culture. Jesus commanded us to make disciples, not just in this generation but also in the next.

This requires a renewed mindset that equips our youth to navigate cultural pressures while

staying grounded in their faith. As Jesus prayed, I do not ask that you take them out of the

world, but that you keep them from the evil one. We are called to be in the world, yet not of it,

living distinctly for Christ.

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your only Son, Jesus, for His sacrifice and example of

obedience and loyalty to You. Today, I place my life in Your hands. Help me to understand and

obey Your Word. Grant me the wisdom to forgive everyone who I need to, even the government,

when their decisions disappoint me. Lord, in humility, I ask You to teach me how to pray for

those in authority, as Solomon did;May he defend the cause of the poor of the people, give

deliverance to the children of the needy; (Psalm 72:4). Guide us as a church to lead the next

generation to Your light and peace. In Jesus’; name, Amen.
