Day 11 - WORSHIP AND GRATITUD ARE OUR SPIRITUAL WEAPONS IN CHRIST
Since ancient times, God has declared a special blessing for His people. God, the fountain of all
blessings, allowed us to bless our neighbors by His example. From the day He taught the
priests to bless His children, He planned to send His greatest blessing: Jesus Christ.
Jesus is our greatest blessing; through Him, we receive the same blessings God promised
Israel. Archaeological discoveries dating back to 600 B.C. show that we can witness the original
blessing that God gave to the priests many years ago, and we still enjoy it today: He keeps us,
He looks at us with kindness, He extends His love, He shows us His favor, and He gives us
peace! Additionally, Jesus is our Savior, and we are promised eternal life because of Him.
With so many freely given blessings, how can we be anything but grateful to God? David was
constantly seeking words and reasons to praise the Lord our God for the blessings he received.
He always had thanksgiving, and his heart continually searched for ways to praise the Lord. He
saw how everything on this earth can adore God. The Bible shows the power of worship when
the Levites were sent ahead of the army of Israel, praising the Lord, and Israel’s enemies were
defeated.
Now, in the 21st century, we are the beneficiaries of the same blessings, and we can use the
same spiritual weapons to fight against the enemy when we struggle with problems, addictions,
sorrows, illnesses, and more. We can use acts of thanksgiving to praise the Lord for the
greatest blessing we have already received: Jesus, the light of the world, our Prince of Peace,
our Savior!
In the same way, to surrender ourselves to Jesus is to transform the environments around us;
our radical worship influences everything. Like Elijah, whose devotion to God had the power to
command rain or declare drought over Israel 1 , we too, if we believe in Jesus and His power, can
perform miracles as He did, and even greater ones 2 . Let us worship Jesus and ask Him to heal
our loved ones, neighbors, classmates, colleagues, our city, our state, and our nation from the
blindness that the god of this world has cast over their minds. Pray to Jesus to open their eyes
so they may see the light of the Gospel that reveals the glory of Christ 3
Jesus, thank You for the blessings we have received from You. Holy Spirit, please be my daily
guide, reminding me that worship and gratitude are my most powerful weapons against my
difficulties. Lord, I want to be more like Jesus, a lamp on a hill that illuminates the path for all
who are in my life. Enhance my faith and help me grow as a Christian, to be a testimony and
change the environments where I live my life. Thank You for Your favor and love. In Jesus'
name, Amen.
