Day 18 - JESUS IS THE RESTORER OF OUR BROKENNESS

This Advent season, we have been reminded of the importance of making Jesus the center of

our celebration. While gifts and traditions are meaningful, the greatest gift we can share is Jesus

Himself.

Throughout Scripture, we see examples of people who were deeply valued by God—friends of

God, a man after His own heart, and instruments of His deliverance. Yet, they often doubted,

not God’s power, but their own ability to fulfill His calling.

Even today, many of us struggle with similar doubts. We wonder: Does God really love me? Am

I capable of doing what He’s asking of me? Can He truly use someone like me? Sometimes we

let our past sins, failures, or insecurities convince us that we are unworthy to be called sons and

daughters of God.

Why do these thoughts haunt us? Perhaps because no one knows us better than we know

ourselves. We see our flaws, our weaknesses, and the gaps in our spiritual life. We may start a

devotional or a Bible reading plan with enthusiasm, only to falter and feel guilt when we fall

short.

But here’s the truth: God knows everything about you. He doesn’t need anyone else’s opinion

about your life. He knows your heart intimately—your struggles, your hopes, and even your

failures.

Have you, my dear brother or sister, been feeling insecure, unsuitable, or insufficient? I have

good news for you!

God specializes in using those who know they need Him. The Bible says:

“God chose what is low and despised in the world, what is regarded as nothing, to set aside

what is regarded as something.” 1

Why does He do this? So that no one can boast, saying, “I helped God.” Instead, He glorifies

Himself through our lives.

Paul reminds us in Ephesians 2:10, “For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in

Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things He planned for us long ago.” Did you catch that?

You are God’s masterpiece! Created in His image, you were made with care and purpose.

Through Jesus, the Master Restorer, we are made new. As Paul says: “God saved you by His

grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. 2 ”

1 1 Corinthians 1:28 2 Ephesians 2:8

But to become the masterpiece God designed, we must come to Him in repentance. Jesus told

Nicodemus: “I tell you the truth, unless you are born again, you cannot see the Kingdom of

God. 3 ”

Have you let go of your arrogance, anger, independence, hidden habits, or addictions? When

we surrender these to Jesus, He restores us. Without Him, we remain broken.

This season, we celebrate the Savior who came to rescue us from our brokenness. Like an old

masterpiece, He takes us, cleans us, and transforms us into something new through His

undeserved grace.

This grace shows His love, forgives our sins, and invites us to become His children. But let’s not

continue in sin. Instead, let us embrace His gift of restoration and step into the purpose He has

for us.

If you need encouragement, read about these men in the Bible whom God chose, despite their

doubts and imperfections:

1. King David: His father considered him unlikely to be presented before the

prophet of God. (1 Samuel 16:1-13).

2. Gideon: A fearful man called to lead Israel (Judges 6).

3. Paul (formerly Saul): A persecutor of Christians transformed into an apostle (Acts

7:57; 8:1-3).

God used these men to accomplish His great purposes. He can do the same for you when you

let Him work in your life.

Heavenly Father, I come before You with all my doubts and insecurities. Help me to understand

that You chose me because I am valuable in Your eyes. I am Your masterpiece. I bring to You

my past, my sins, my secrets, my habits, and my addictions. I open my heart to You and desire

to be born again.

Jesus, I want to forgive those who have hurt me, who made me feel worthless, and who

overlooked my value. Thank You, Lord, for seeing me as Your most precious creation. In Jesus’

name, Amen.
